ABOUT ME

I'm Elicia Blackford, and I'm currently an English Language Development Teacher at Madison High School in Portland, Oregon. The 2017-2018 school year will be my 8th year teaching, and I've taught in both middle and high schools, ELD, English Language Arts and Spanish for Native Speakers. Prior to teaching in Portland, I grew up and taught in the San Francisco Bay Area in California.

I created this site to help colleagues, students, family, and friends explore the world with me as I travel across the globe and immerse myself in the Indonesian culture and educational system. I am also hoping this site can be a valuable resource for educators looking to learn about global education and integrate more global learning into their classrooms, schools, communities, and possibly even their own homes!
